What makes the EU a top choice for Turkish citizens
Turkish citizens immigrate to the European Union for a number of reasons, including new economic opportunities, broad educational prospects and political stability. Another key factor is the higher level of earnings in the countries of the European Union compared to Turkey. For example, in 2024, the average gross monthly salary in Germany is about €4,300, in France – €3,300, and in the Netherlands – €3,600. These figures are significantly higher than the average income in Turkey, which explains the popularity of EU countries among labor immigrants.
The fact that a passport from any of the EU countries allows visa-free travel to more than 170 countries, including the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and China, is an additional incentive.
