The following documents should be included in the file of the applicant for Romanian citizenship:

  • national ID and international passport;
  • birth certificate;
  • marriage certificate (if applicable);
  • birth certificates of children under 18 years old;
  • birth certificates of parents;

  • grandparents’ birth certificates;
  • marriage certificate of grandparents;
  • certificate of no criminal record;
  • 2 standard color photos 3.5 × 4.5 cm.

Registration of the citizenship dossier requires personal presence. The procedure takes no longer than 1–2 hours. In exceptional cases, the law provides for the possibility of submitting documents by power of attorney.

The fast track immigration program does not establish investment requirements for the applicant for Romanian citizenship.
