Yes, the procedure of applying for Cyprus permanent residency requires the personal presence of the applicant.

The resident and his family members can reside permanently in Cyprus, as well as cross its borders in both directions without visas.

The residence permit for the investor and their adult dependents is of unlimited validity. However, the card itself is valid for ten years from the date of issue and must be replaced at the end of this period. The investor and his/her adult family members are required to submit criminal record certificates from their countries of origin and residence every three years. Proof of investment retention and a certificate of health insurance are also required annually.

To obtain citizenship, one must have lived in Cyprus for at least 7 years out of the last 10 and may not leave the country for more than 90 days in the year prior to application.
